Classes

Where, When, Fee Prenatal classes will be held on the North Shore, on some Saturday or Sunday mornings from 9 am. to 12 pm, some Sunday afternoons from 2 to 5 pm, or weekday evenings from 7 pm. to 10 pm.  Breastfeeding and Baby Care classes will be held on some weekend mornings or weekday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. There is only one prenatal class.  A Breastfeeding and Baby Care class can be attended to complement the prenatal class or by itself. Cost for the “Prenatal in a Nutshell” is $120 per couple.  Cost for the Breastfeeding and Baby Care class is $75 per expectant mom (or couple).

Lots of swag (product giveaways) included !.

A note about the fees

There are still many brochures in circulation, listing “Prenatal in a Nutshell”s fee as $95 for a prenatal class and $50 for a breastfeeding/baby care class.  As I firmly believe that prenatal education is highly beneficial and should be available and affordable, I did not raise my fees for ten years.  I was able to keep fees low by high attendance (12-15 couples) in my classes.

In a pandemic world however, I have made many changes so that my clients can attend an in-person prenatal class as safely as possible.  These changes include: smaller classes to allow for physical distancing, provision of PPE (personal protective equipment) for my clients, investing in equipment that can be sanitized, as well as more frequent and thorough cleaning of all surfaces.  Unfortunately, as the cost of running my classes has greatly increased, I have had no choice but to increase my fees as well.
